Vicki May, MS, LCSW, CADC
I have practiced psychotherapy for the past forty years, including the last thirty-five of those as one of Harmonia’s five founding partners. My work is primarily with adult individuals and couples as well as with families, including members of all ages. I maintain a general mental health practice, i.e., stress, depression, anxiety, grief, career, life transition issues, etc., with specialized training in couples and family therapy, sex therapy, LGBTQ concerns, chemical dependency, and addictions.
My initial training was in cognitive-behavioral theory and family systems theory. However, over the years I have studied and used a variety of other approaches to help clients address the issues that hinder their finding meaning, purpose, happiness, and their fullest potential. I utilize a wholistic therapeutic model by addressing the emotional, physical, and spiritual needs of my clients. Together we work toward understanding, change, resolution, and acceptance.
My current teachers in addition to books, colleagues, and seminars, include 2 young grandchildren, and several pets, and, my current form of personal therapy and rejuvenation is found in woodworking, which has been a lifelong hobby.
