I believe that it can be helpful to talk through these thoughts and situations to gain clarity and decide how you want to move forward. I see my role as being a supportive, non-judgmental, safe place to explore your concerns. Everyone’s needs are different, but I can help you make plans for changes in your behaviors or to find a new way of thinking about difficulties. You are the one to decide where we start and what goals you would like to accomplish in our time together.
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I try to look at many aspects to help guide changes that acknowledge the relationships and connections in your life. I also work to identify patterns in thoughts or behaviors that if changed may lead to a healthier lifestyle. Overall, I remain strength-based and solution-focused as we approach your goal attainment. I place a lot of value in the strength of a therapeutic relationship. I want you to feel like I am the person you can talk to and work with to improve yourself.
I have worked in a community based mental health clinic and in a primary care clinic at a large medical institution. I work with individuals, couples, families, and with groups. I have experience working with depression, anxiety, anger issues, relationship issues, family dynamics, and trauma. I am trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and have experience g teens work through traumatic events. I especially enjoy working with teens and their parents.
