Alex Einsman Harmonia Madison Center for PsychotherapyLife is constantly throwing us challenges, so having someone who will really listen to you, support you, and give you reliable insight into your personality can be helpful. If you are looking to make healthy changes that will improve your mental wellbeing, I provide a space for you to cultivate positive change. We will explore your unique internal experiences, core beliefs, emotions and behaviors, allowing you to derive more satisfaction from your life and relationships.

As a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT),I have worked extensively with adolescents and their parents on identity development, enhancing self-esteem, as well as with adults and teens battling depression, anxiety, and other issues. My clinical experience includes programming for several youth support groups in a nonprofit setting, and I continue to offer guidance to at-risk youth and their families in Madison and surrounding areas. As my office is in close proximity to University of Wisconsin, Madison College and Edgewood College campuses, I help many students deal with issues surrounding college life and young adulthood.

There are a variety of treatment options available to fit your specific therapeutic goals in a supportive and affirming environment. My clinical emphasis is on therapy for straight and gay couples, families and individuals who are working through anxiety, trauma, depression, sexuality, identity, intimate relationships and related issues. As a member of the LGBTQ community myself, I provide a safe environment and an experienced perspective, to help clients explore this aspect of their identities and promote healing and growth for them and their families.

I have a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy from Edgewood College and a bachelor's degree in communication arts from the University of Wisconsin, Madison (Go Badgers!). As a solution-focused psychodynamic therapist, I draw upon a variety of modalities to meet the unique treatment needs of each client. As a trained eye-movement de-sensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) clinician, I help clients relieve disturbing memories and experiences, through this cutting-edge therapeutic technique. I am also trained in clinical hypnotherapy and a member of the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis. Family systems therapy, systemic sex therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) are a few of the other treatment approaches I use to help clients relieve anxiety, phobias and life transitions.
